5 PRIZES AT THE VENICE MOVIE STARS LOUNGEThat’s who among our guests won the Silver Lion, the Coppa Volpi, the best director prize, the Marcello Mastroianni award and the Persol Tribute to Visionary Talent Award 2016 On Saturday 10th September ended the 73. Venice Film Festival. For this edition, whose jury was the British director Sam Mendes, have been guests of the Festival several big names of the international filmmaking, from Wim Wenders to Paolo Sorrentino, from Emir Kusturica to François Ozon.
The Venice Movie Stars Lounge, which has been for 5 years the meeting point for stars and journalists present at the Venice Film Festival, this year has hosted 7 of the in Competition films. Of these, actors and directors who have worked at the Lounge were: Damien Chazelle and Emma Stone for La La Land, Roan Johnson, Luigi Fedele and Blu Yoshimi for Piuma, Andrei Konchalovsky and Julia Vysotskaya for Rai (Paradise), Emir Kusturica and Monica Bellucci for Mlijecnom Putu (On the Milky Road), Pablo Larrain and Natalie Portman for Jackie, François Ozon, Pierre Niney and Paula Beer for Frantz, Wim Wenders, Reda Kateb Sophie Semin for Les Beaux Jours d ‘Arranjuez (3D).
As regards the section of the 17 Out of Competition films, on the other hand, the Venice Movie Stars Lounge has hosted 3 of them, including the documentary about the musician Nick Cave titled One More Time with Feeling of directed by Andrew Dominik, the film about the boxer Chuck Wepner entitled The Bleeder by Philippe Falardeaun and the mini-series The Young Pope by Paolo Sorrentino. Were interviewed in our spaces Andrew Dominik representing One More Time with Feeling, Philippe Falardeau, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber for The Bleederand Paolo Sorrentino, Jude Law, Ludvine Sagneir, Cecile de France, Javier room, Silvio Orlando, James Cromwell and Scott Shepherd for The Young Pope.
Finally, as far as the section Orizzonti is concerned, the Venice Movie Star Lounge had the pleasure of hosting the Director Katell Quillevere and Emmanuelle Seigner for the movie Réparer les Vivants and the director Nicholas Verso with the actors Toby Wallace and Mitzi Ruhlmann for the film Boys in the Trees; for the section Cinema nel giardino, have been interviewed at the Lounge the director of L’estate addosso Gabriele Muccino with the film’s interpreters Brando Pacitto and Matilda Lutz.
Many were, therefore, the guests that have taken part at the Venice Movie Stars Lounge and that have distinguished themselves thanks to the awards received by the jury of Venice 73: Andrei Konchalovsky, Silver Lion Award for Best Director, Emma Stone, Coppa Volpi for best actress, Noah Oppenheim, prize for best screenplay for the movie Jackie, Paula Beer, Marcello Mastroianni Award for best young actress and Liev Schreiber, Persol Tribute to Visionary Talent Award 2016.
