The ceremony will be attended by the leading filmmakers and stars of Asia-Pacific, the international jury, nominations council and more than 500 film industry luminaries from Asia-Pacific and beyond. Three days of activities and events will be centred around the Awards, leading into the gala ceremony, including the official Academy induction hosted by the Patron of the Academy of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, legendary Australian actor, Jack Thompson.
The Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) acclaim, at a global level, the cinematic excellence and cultural diversity of the vast Asia-Pacific region. APSA is a unique collaboration between CNN International, UNESCO and FIAPF-International Federation of Film Producers Associations and is a cultural initiative of the Queensland Government, Australia. APSA honours the works of filmmakers across a region covering 70 countries, one third of the earth and half the world’s film output. Films are judged on cinematic excellence and the way in which they attest to their cultural origins.
