| With an overwhelming media attention for the opening film The Misfortunates the 36th edition of the Ghent International Film Festival is allready a real succes.
But also the other events are doing well. Sunday October 11th, the American actor Kevin Costner, known for his roles in box office hits such as Dances With Wolves, The Bodyguard, Robin Hood, JFK and The Untouchables, gave a fantastic performance with his band Modern West in a completely sold out Handelsbeurs concert hall. Upcoming events are the concerts of Japanese composer Shigeru Umebayashi and the 9th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards with music of composers Alexandre Desplat, Marc Streitenfeld and Marvin Hamlisch. On Friday October 16 Andy Garcia and his daughter Dominik present their film City Island at the festival.
